On top of being beautifully written and balanced between simple and complex, your writing has a comforting cadence to it — one of the best parts of children’s books, which were never meant just for kids.
Sharing books with my kids was my “default activity” too. And I know for sure, I benefited at least as much as they did … probably more. Parenting little kids involves lots of stress, physical demands, and boredom. Reading really helped balance it out, bringing calm and closeness. And the messages helped me parent and love my kids, and myself.
