One thing that always energizes me is doing something I've been dreading and/or putting off. (Recent examples: taking our filthy car to the car wash; calling tech support about a malfunctioning water heater; opening a scary email that turned out to be not scary at all.) I always feel like a million bucks afterward . . . and then I usually go straight back to avoiding/procrastinating some other task 🤦🏻♂️
I love this question about 'what energizes you' and how unique the response is for each person!! Walking and moving my body and finding a few moments of blank space mentally as working mother is always something that energizes me!! Exchanging voice notes with two of my best friends who both love hours/cities/states away is another life giving practice in my life here recently
The Toronto Fringe Festival! Biking from venue to venue, seeing a huge variety of different people telling different stories, bumping into friends in the audience, coaxing people to come out to shows with me and watching them be captivated, hearing from a friend-of-a-friend that I've only met once that she was inspired by my Fringe adventures and went to a few herself. Best part of the summer!
I’ve been feeling so not-at-all-energized lately, and this post is reminding me to look for those energizing moments. I had a little boost the other day when I got a bunch of random little things done - made some appointments, picked up some library holds, etc. Just tiny tasks that I normally procrastinate doubt, but getting them out of the way felt good.

Great question — can’t wait to read other comments. Here are my recent energizers:
• Conversation over miel lattes with my mom and daughter
• Meetup with my pharmacist co-workers OUTSIDE of work, outside by the lake
• Interviewing other writers. I didn’t imagine it’d be this fun.
So I guess the throughline is connecting with people.
