slip inside the eye of your (actually, my) mind
Freshly grated parmesan (the real kind, baby)
Going to the market that sucks just to get the exact Epsom salts I like for my nightly bath
Getting my nails painted for professional and creative events so that I can feel glamorous
Writing and rewriting to get closer to the paragraph floating in my mind
Totally worth it:
The good shea butter
Scrubbing the bathrooms
Jeans that fit
Growing tomatoes and zucchini (I had very little spoons left for gardening this year, and I’m regretting it)
Going through the hassle of hiring cat sitters, packing up, getting three flustered people in the car, and driving two hours: trouble.
Spending a week doing nothing much but swinging in the hammock, jumping in the lake, reading, and eating corn grown down the road: so, so worth it.
Also worth the trouble:
- having the hard conversation
- setting the boundary
- asking for help
- making the toile
- ripping back the wonky rows and knitting them again
- making your own mayonnaise
